China's digital currency cards were used as the official payment method at the Olympics because they are safer and more convenient than cash. There are several benefits to using digital currency cards for payments. They are safer than cash, which means that the risk of theft is lower. Digital currency cards also provide a higher degree of security than credit cards, which helps to protect data from hackers and other cybercriminals. The Beijing Olympics in 2008 was the first to use digital currency cards, a form of electronic money.

The organizers wanted to make the event as green as possible and they felt that this was the best way to do so. This is because when people use a debit or credit card, they need to pay a fee for each transaction. This fee can be quite high depending on which bank you are using. With digital currency cards, there is no fee and it is cheaper for both the customer and the store. This allows them to be more competitive with other forms of payment like cash or checks.
