Vieques is famous for its amazing beaches and there is a lot of them, ranging from pure white to soft black. Playa La Plata (Silver Beach) is among the most popular beaches in the island and named accordingly because of its bright white sand. The island is also home to one of Puerto Rico's three bioluminescent bays. Vieques is a Caribbean island on Puerto Rico's eastern coast. It's known for boat tours of Bioluminescent Bay (or Mosquito Bay), where microorganisms give the water a blue-green glow. It also offers secluded beaches and snorkeling.
