Warsaw has caught the guard officially with an offer that was to deliver the Soviet Era planes, to the US that is based in Ramstein, Germany. To a scheme that has been proposed the jets could have deployed to Ukraine, whereas the polish air force will receive F-16 fighters as a replacement.

Why did the US reject Poland's offer of fighter jets for Ukraine?
