The design of this new feature does not take into account much of the complexity of digital advertising today. For example, the API only names three participants to an ad transaction. It is clear no one on the design team for this feature accounted for how advertisers and app publishers work with a variety of technologies to serve and measure ad performance. Similarly, supporting only one type of mobile marketing conversion—the app installs—ignores other types of conversions for which a campaign might want to optimize.
