Cam software is a type of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software that automates the process of generating toolpaths for CNC machine tools. The following is the list of free cam software which can be used for CNC machines.
The CAM software is used to create programs that control the machine tool’s movement and cutting actions. It is the final step in the CNC machining process, after preparing a 3D CAD model and generating a G-code file.
The CAM software will produce an NC code which is then converted into a G-code file by the post-processor.
