It's easy to find lost items with Apple's AirTags: purses, backpacks, keys, etc. Though not new, the concept has been around for a while. Historically, tile trackers have offered similar functionality for many years. Despite this, Apple's version appears promising.

AirTags are likely better in the following areas than Tiles-

Ø AirTags are pretty small. A polished metal disc comes attached to the back of the AirTag. The plastic shell is glossy white on the front and sides and overlapping the plastic shell with a polished shimmer. AirTag is as similar as Tile Stickers but much smaller than Tile Mate and Tile Pro. It is better to go smaller when it comes to things that will go on your key chain.

Ø A simple pairing process makes setting up AirTags as easy as pairing AirPods. The AirTag can be brought close to your phone and tapped to connect. An AirTag can be discovered by simply tapping it with the device. The AirTag GPS tracker also features Ultra-Wideband, allowing for a unique tracking experience close to the user that Tile cannot offer. A web page with contact information will appear. On the AirTag there is a U1 ultrawideband chip, which lets you determine how far your AirTag is from you and how far it is from the direction you are walking. This feature uses the iPhone's cameras, ARKit software. The AirTag data produce a visual guide that uses haptics and sounds to guide the user. AirTag's Bluetooth range is sufficient for Precision finding

Ø The most important aspect of the project is the community. Hundreds of millions of iPhone owners could help you locate an AirTag if you report it lost using Apple's new Find My app. Despite Tile's long-standing community-based location assistance, but this user base is not as large as Apple's.

Ø The AirTag and Tile Pro are both powered by replaceable batteries, the Tile Mate is powered by replaceable CR1632 batteries whereas AirTag has CR2032 battery. There is no replacement or rechargeable battery for Tile Slim and Tile Sticker.

Ø There is no specific water-resistance rating on Tile's trackers, unlike the AirTag

Ø Privacy is at the core of AirTag, according to Apple it is a much upgrade from Tile. In the AirTag, there is no physical storage of location data, and communication with the Find My network is protected so that a device's location can only be accessed by the device's owner. You must download the Tile app from the App Store if you wish to use Tile trackers. Tile trackers can work across various platforms by installing the Tile app for Android and iOS.

AirTag does not exist as an app. Apple's Find My app already works with AirTag.
