If someone eats it makes them tired. After eating it is normal for anyone to fall asleep or feel sleepy. The blood flow to the small intestine increases when people eat food. Once the food gets digested in the gut, it sends a trigger to the brain that gives a feeling of hard sleep. Sleeping right after a meal should not be done because it does not allow you to burn down calories

Most humans feel sleepy after a big meal. This is a very common behavior due to digestion patterns and sleep phases. Some kind of food intake and what time they eat the food also matters a lot. And do you want to know what is it called when you get tired after eating? It is called postprandial somnolence.

Feeling lazy and dizzy or having problems concentrating after having a heavy meal is very natural and common. Anyone can feel tired and sleepy, but it depends on how much that person has eaten. Here are a few of the reasons why people feel sleepy after eating.

·     The kind of food you eat

·     How much quantity of food you have consumed

·     Not going for a walk after eating

·     drinking alcohol and water when you eat your meals.

Instead of eating heavy meals eating little and in small quantity every hour is better to avoid sleep. This helps for high energy levels.
