Yellow Class, an EdTech start-up, has secured $6 million from Elevation Capital as part of a Series A round of financing. Investors include existing investors India Quotient, Titan Capital, and First Cheque. These funds will be used to improve child and parent experience and to expand the content on Yellow Class. The company intends to expand to 500 cities in India and internationally using a portion of the funds received from the investment.

India Quotient led a seed round of $1.5 million in November 2020. This funding will be used by Yellow Class to enhance product experiences, build brands, hire leadership roles, and expand their business. This company, which provides online extracurricular and co-curricular activities, will use funds for branding and product development as well as hiring for key positions.

Arun Mittal and Anshul Gupta founded the company in 2020 with the aim of offering extracurricular programs and co-curricular activities to children between 3-12 years of age. It's an inspiration to see them build and scale the platform in just six months. Among the other participants in Yellow Class’s Series A round are Meesho's cofounder Vidit Aatrey, Indifi's co-founder Alok Mittal and Bounce's cofounder Vivekananda Hallekere and Alvin Tse, Xiaomi Indonesia's country director, and OYO's global chief strategy officer Maninder Gulati.

Courses in 40 categories are currently offered at the company, including arts and crafts, dance, yoga, general knowledge, and logical reasoning. Experienced mentors from a range of groups, including celebrities, influencers, and professionals, teach these courses. Currently, the platform has more than a million students registered, and each class has a capacity of 10,000 students. By the end of the year, the company hopes to engage 10 million monthly active teachers.

A growing number of educational technologies are devoted to extracurricular learning due to the growing importance of holistic development. Yellow Class offers an array of children's extracurricular activities that are streamed and augmented with an artificial intelligence layer that builds interaction and engagement.

According to the company, their platform has grown 18-fold in just six months, with new categories of extracurricular classes in development. Classes in vernacular languages are also planned, as well as social networking and progress tracking features.
