Costco is a membership-only warehouse club that provides its members with the opportunity to buy in bulk at discounted prices. Costco is popular because it offers quality products at low prices. Costco's popularity can be credited to its competitive prices, wide variety of products, and large size stores.

Costco's distribution model saves customers time and money. Customers can buy in bulk to save on the cost per unit. With over 700 stores worldwide and 836 million members Costco sends out trucks from its warehouses to deliver goods to its stores. This allows them to have better control over what they are selling and how much of it. Costco's distribution strategy also creates a lot of jobs and helps the economy in various regions around the world.

Costco’s distribution centers are the backbone of their business. They have a strong focus on customer service and the distribution centers are one of the best examples of this.

Cross-dock systems are used by Costco's depots to move entire pallets of goods from suppliers to warehouses, which helps lower delivery costs (selling locations). Costco regularly assesses its procedures and puts new strategies into practise to increase shipping effectiveness.

In order to reduce packaging, protect goods, and decrease the number of delivery trucks on the road, these techniques include optimising pallet configuration and package design, resulting in more products on a pallet. Analyzing state weight and length oversize licences and using specialist equipment to handle greater cargo when geographically feasible are two further ways Costco lowers expenses. Costco also uses longer combination vehicles to make the most of trailer space.
