Bitdefender, the popular antivirus software company, will be ending its free product. This is because of the new GDPR. The company's new paid product will be called Bitdefender Total Security, and it will not only protect your device from viruses but also offer password managers and parental controls. An adage goes that if you are not paying for the product - you are the product. With this new GDPR law in place, companies need to get paid for their services. So while this may seem like a bad idea on paper - it is more of a benefit in practice to consumers who are looking for better protection on their devices.

Bitdefender is one of the most popular antivirus software in the market. Bitdefender is ending its free antivirus service to make sure that the virus removal service has enough resources to meet user demand. The company offered a premium antivirus for free. When Bitdefender was first introduced in the market, it offered a free antivirus. But times have changed and they are now focusing on more lucrative products. Last year, they introduced their new premium version called "Bitdefender Total Security" to compete with Google’s Chrome at $79.99 per year for three PCs. The reason behind this change is that Bitdefender wants to focus on more profitable products like hardware security devices.
