Channel management is the process of managing the relationship between a company and its channel partners. The goal is to find the best possible channel partners to help the company reach its customers. Channel management is a vital part of the modern sales process. In the past, the sale was a one-on-one relationship between a seller and a prospective customer. Smallest companies can compete against much larger corporations. Channels can include partners such as suppliers, vendors, and distributors, as well as technologies such as websites, mobile apps, and call centers. This often involves ensuring the right channel or channels are in place to meet your customers’ needs and expectations.

Channel management is the process of managing the interactions between your company and the distributors, resellers, and other channels that sell your products and services to the end consumers. The goal of channel management is to make sure that the products and services of your company are being represented in the most professional, effective, and profitable manner possible. The most successful companies understand the importance of managing their channels and dedicate time and resources toward ensuring that their channels are operating at their maximum capacity.
