The Attack on Titan anime had been around for 8 years. The two main protagonists, Mikasa and Eren are considered canon couple by the fandom. Especially the character of Mikasa has become a sensation because her character is unlike any other female leads. A character that can be a role model for female leaders in today’s world of decision-making in the face of trouble. She is more popular than the main character Eren himself. 

Mikasa had an emotional breakdown in the AoT series. She has been beside Eren in his tough times. Her gratitude towards Eren for saving her life numerous times eventually turned into a dedication to serving Eren both in good and bad times. She had great concerns because in her eyes Eren had the shadow of death looming over him. This made her flustered but she did everything possible from her end to protect and support Eren.

In the final arc, Mikasa was abandoned by Eren that struck her like a lightening. Eren had his own reasons to do that but much of that is still unclear. Mikasa was pushed away so that she can once and for all live life on her own terms and not for others. Eren called her a ***** so that she finally stops siding with him and starts despising him. Eren was fated to die, nothing can stop that and she was the instrument fate was going to use.
