Monkeypox is a viral disease that is related to smallpox, but it is not as contagious. The virus can be transmitted through contact with an infected animal or person. The signs and symptoms of monkeypox include fever, headache, muscle aches, backache, and swollen lymph nodes. These symptoms are similar to those of chickenpox or smallpox. However, the rash associated with monkeypox is different from the rash associated with these diseases.
