Data breaches are big news when they happen to some big or popular companies but it will be devastating when they happen to your company. Businesses are attacked daily by opportunists who want to extract money or data from your business or to take revenge they want to watch it fall. To be on a safe secure side firstly you should have to set a strong password that contains a minimum of 10 characters & it can’t be a known entry, a common name, or a child’s or spouse’s name. the main thing is the password can’t be simple like ‘123456789’. Many apps can help you to generate e strong password. You can use multi-factor authentication & also set up a   personal device that knocks you when someone wants to access your systems. The second thing is to use anti-virus software for preventing cyberattacks. You can download this software free so there will be no excuses. Thirdly having Security protocols in your places will give staff & employees information on what to do when they receive an unknown mail or file. Knowing & be aware of the latest cybercrime & scams is a good idea for everyone.

In the process of protecting, creating backups of your data is a very good step. Sometimes all the security in the world is not enough to stop attacks if they are determined to cause you damage. Backups are not even too expensive various software and tools can back up your data easily. But sometimes your office can be physically broken into. A sound alarm system can help you in this type of situation. you can also lock your server room & give access to the persons you want. Biometric access is a bonus. If your staff takes hardware home, the password protects it and encrypts your data.

You should prevent accidents & damage to your system & data because accidents can happen in the workplace. Floods, fires, and natural disasters can be the reason. If you work in any sort of computing or flammable environment, then there are other things you can do to prevent accidents like- ESD Flooring or antistatic flooring, etc. With the help of these systems, you can protect your data & with, the device from destroying.

Spills in the office are another way how your equipment and data can get damaged. You should not allow any liquids around your hardware.  The hardware can also get stolen especially if you work in a shared working environment where it is not possible to use your equipment personally. In this situation, you can porches items such as laptop locks or robust laptops that can take a spill or a fall in your business requirements.  These items can cost more money but by using these you can get the best security. So, these are good for the long term. Protecting your computer from internal & external threats can differ between staying in a business or going bankrupt. Security threats can have severe financial damage to a company & if you are ignoring these steps then it could be the end of your business.
