A greenhouse gas is a gas that absorbs and emits radiant energy within the thermal infrared range, causing the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases absorb the incident ray of light from the sun and also doesn’t allow the earth’s warm radiation to pass into outer space. Thus, making the earth and its atmosphere warmer each day. Some of the examples of major greenhouse gases are Carbon dioxide, water vapour, CFC, methane, nitrous oxide, sulphur hexafluoride, etc.
