No, IT industries employees are not exactly overpaid. Their pay scale is based on market standards. More than a hundred people are applying the niche skills segmented job and about thousand of folks applying in general skills such as java developer every day on a single employment post. If you go to job portals like LinkedIn, indeed, Nakri.com, and many others you can easily see what the competition going among the job seekers for a single job.

IT professionals with more or less 2 to 3 years of working experience, placed in which company and how much they are earning 20 LPA or 2 LPA it is all depend on their skill set and their knowledge which field they are working. As in this IT profession number of job seekers are more and they are applying for a job with their knowledgeable experience that make the competition tough compare to other fields.

If a company paying its employee approx 30 thousand per month that means the company might charge approx 1 lakh more or less as per the project description for a month from the client (Presenting rough figures for representative). Few sales marketing employees are earning 1 lakh plus incentives per month with experience between 2 to 3 years and some of the students are jobless in some respective domains or underpaid. But the massive difference from other fields is that in IT you won’t be jobless, multiple opportunities always are present surrounding you.

IT employees can earn approx 20 LPA within a year also they can get less than 3 LPA after 4 years of experience. It all relies on the skill and knowledge that the person has in their respective domain.  IT professional average salary can be more or less around 5 to 6 LPA. In India IT employees with 2 to 9 years of experience can earn a salary of 5-7 LPA as an average.

If we are talking about a high salary then it must be said that with some effective skills and building relationship with a great communication there are several fields where you can earn a higher salary. This opportunity is not only present in the IT sector it is everywhere and in every field, it depends upon you that you are enough capable to grave the opportunity or not. So, it is not exactly true that IT professionals are only earning a high salary or are overpaid.

No, Indian IT employees are not overpaid than the other profession because their line of work doesn’t make them do so. They work tirelessly 6 days a week and up to 8-12 hours a day, depending upon the deadline of their work.

Also, they are neither given so many holidays like government employees nor they are given so many benefits like the other one, so one can easily say they are underpaid rather than being overpaid.
